Quilt assignment and THE PLAN for the next few days

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that I thought the "quilts" that you all did turned out so great! I am so proud of all of you for creating such great pieces of art, and for some of you for really designing something that was meaningful to you.

We will be spending one more class day talking about slavery during the 1850's. Did you know that slavery still exists in today's world?? Next week in 3rd and 5th periods, we will have guest speakers talking about modern-day slavery right here in American and around the world. I am going to ask you answer some questions for me at the end of class tomorrow on an anonymous exit card, as well as ask any questions you have on modern-day slavery that I will forward to Mrs. Bridges and Officer Herring before they come speak.

Since we don't have class on Friday, on Thursday we will have time to work on bringing your quilt pieces to life with fabric generously donated by Ms. Smith. Also, we may even have a snack! You know you love social studies.

See you tomorrow,
Mrs. Patterson
