Chapter 20 - Poster assignment

Students will work in groups of two or three to create and present a speech and a poster over a section of Chapter 20 (African Americans at Mid-Century). Here are the steps necessary to complete this project:

1) Pick your section and partner. Tell me who you are working with and which section you are doing.

2) Read the section.

3) Take notes on the main ideas of the section.

4) Create a visual aid (poster) to show while you are giving your speech on your section.

5) Write your speech.

6) Practice!

I will be grading based on the following things:

1 point – Poster is clear, neat and accurate.
1 point – Speech is well thought out, accurate and practiced.
1 point – Creativity and completion. Steps to completion exist (you can show me your notes, your rough draft of your speech, etc)
.5 point – Participation. Each student helped with the project and presented.
.5 point - Presentation/Poster go above and beyond what is required.
